Rob Edwards steps down as MU19 head coach

The FAW can confirm that Cymru MU19 Head Coach Rob Edwards has resigned from his position to take up a new job at Forest Green Rovers.

Edwards joined the FAW in 2018 as MU17 Head Coach before moving to the MU19 role in 2019. During his time at Cymru, Edwards oversaw the development of several senior Cymru players including Neco Williams, Charlie Savage, Lewis Koumas and Charlie Crew.

Edwards said: “I have recently accepted an opportunity to work with a senior football team close to home again and have decided to step down as head coach of our MU19 team.

“I would like to thank the FAW for the opportunity to coach the team over the last six years, it has always been an honour and a privilege.

“There are many talented and hardworking members of staff within the FAW who work to develop players along this path and it has been a pleasure to work and learn with them. I wish everyone working for or supporting Cymru every success in the future. Diolch.”

Dave Adams, The FAW Director of Football, said: “I would like to thank Rob for his commitment to youth development in Cymru and we wish Rob all the best in his next challenge.”

The FAW would like to thank Rob Edwards for all his work in connection with the Cymru age group teams.
