‘My Life with the Walter Boys’ Season 2: Estimated Netflix Release Date and What We Know So Far

Added to Netflix on December 7, 2023, My Life with the Walter Boys is based on the 2014 Wattpad novel by Ali Novak. Melanie Halsall developed the novel into a 10-part series starring Nikki Rodriguez, Noah LaLonde, Ashby Gentry and Johnny Link, with Sony Pictures Television behind the title.

The story revolves around Rodriguez’s character, Jackie Howard, a 15-year-old girl who moves to Silver Falls, Colorado after losing her family in a tragic car accident. She must adjust to life alongside a family of seven sons in rural America.

Official Renewal Status:Renewed

On December 19, Netflix officially approved a second season of My Life with the Walter Boys.

Creator Melanie Halsall said in a statement: “I am beyond thrilled that My Life with the Walter Boys has been renewed for a second season. We have been overwhelmed by the love and support the audience has shown for the series and we can’t wait to dive back into the world of Silver Falls and the lives of these characters.”

The renewal was accompanied by a video in which Melanie told the main cast about the series’ renewal:

Nikhil surprises Tara with the news that he will not be taking on his new role in London and will instead remain in Silver Falls, which seems to have put a damper on her possible attraction to Richard.

The episode ends with Jackie, Richard and Danny flying back to New York.

Any return to My Life with the Walter Boys we could spend our time next season either in New York, or, whether through a time jump or something, Jackie gets drawn to Silver Falls.

Another big problem to solve is who Morgan is. At the end of Season 1, Hayley received a text message that upset her (to the point of lying about it) – what’s the problem?

This adds to the many lingering questions about relationship tensions and possibilities heading into a second season.

Looking at theories on Reddit, several people think that Alex and Kiley could end up together next season; Alex will likely find out why Jackie ultimately left and cut Cole off, who may even choose to isolate himself. Another commented that they think Season 2 will resemble the plot of The Summer I Became Pretty.

Will the book sequel impact Netflix season 2?

In late 2023, Ali Novak’s website hinted that something new was coming for fans of the first book. In his FAQ, Novak asks if there will be a sequel published to the book and says:

“I have already said that there will be no sequel released. However, now that the series has been released on Netflix, I may or may not be working on something exciting! Keep your eyes peeled for exciting news by following me on Twitter and Instagram. »

In June 2024, it was confirmed that a sequel to the book (titled My return to the Walter Boys) is indeed in the works, revealing the news to Today.com that a sequel will hit bookstores on April 15, 2025. When asked if this will have any impact or influence on the story of Season 2 of the series, Novak said:

“There’s a lot of content that was skipped in the first book. So maybe we’ll see some content in Season 2 that mirrors the first book.

But none of the content I’m writing now will be in the second season. They’ve just gone in different directions. They’re still the same characters that we love.

If the series continues to be successful, maybe they’ll look at the sequel I wrote and take some of that content, but for now, they’re two separate entities.

My Life with the Walters Brothers Season 2 has been in pre-production since late May 2024 and was originally scheduled to begin production in early June 2024. However, this was ultimately pushed back.

Current filming dates (subject to change) are:

• Filming begins: July 22, 2024
• End of filming: November 15, 2024

Filming for the second season will continue in the Canadian province of Alberta, specifically in Calgary and towns such as Cochrane and Crossfield.

Jason Priestleywho directed two episodes of season 1, will return to direct in season 2.

These updated filming dates confirm a 2024 release For My Life with the Walter Boys Season 2 is unlikely. Instead, we’re expecting a 2025 release with a likely spring or summer release window..
