Cyclist seriously injured after being hit by car in Napier

A male cyclist was seriously injured after being hit by a car on Marine Parade in Napier.

The incident happened on Wednesday morning near the Pacifica restaurant on Main Street South, close to Napier’s central business district.

Emergency services including St John Ambulance Service, New Zealand Fire and Emergency Medical Services and Police quickly attended the scene.

A police spokeswoman said the accident appeared to involve a car and a cyclist, and the patient was conscious and breathing when police arrived.
