Meet New Judge-Elect Lauren Wallace: ‘Expect Me to Listen to Everyone’

After winning a majority of the countywide vote in the June 18 runoff election, newly elected Judge Lauren Wallace is preparing to move from her position as chief deputy assistant district attorney for Douglas County to adjudicating for voters on the Supreme Court.

Wallace will replace retiring Douglas County District Court Judge William “Beau” McClain when his term expires on Dec. 31. But before the prosecutor-turned-lawyer takes office in January, she’s giving her fellow judges, attorneys and litigants a taste of what they can expect from her as a judge.
