Xbox Live is not working, it’s not just you

If you’re having trouble with Xbox Live today, you’re not alone. There have been multiple reports claiming the service is down.

According to Downdetector, over 37,000 Xbox players have reported that Xbox Live is experiencing an outage. The problem appears to have started around 2:00 PM ET and peaked around 2:40 PM ET.

Players were greeted with the error message “0x87DD0033” when trying to log in. The message read, “We couldn’t sign you in. Please try again in a few minutes or check the service status with Xbox Support.” The Xbox Status page confirmed a major outage. As of this writing, accounts and profiles are still unavailable, but all other services are green.

Right now, the status says that Xbox is working on the issue. So you may still encounter issues when trying to sign in. Additionally, Xbox says that “you may be disconnected while signing in or have other related issues.” It also adds that “Features that require you to sign in, such as most games, apps, and social activities, will not be available.”
