Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II arrested on drunk driving charges

Oklahoma State football quarterback and Doak Walker Award winner Ollie Gordon II was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.

A state trooper in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, reported seeing Gordon swerving and failing to maintain single-lane traffic in his black 2024 Cadillac. The vehicle was traveling 17 mph over the speed limit, 82 mph, in a 65 mph zone, according to the probable cause affidavit.

According to testimony, the officer stopped the vehicle, smelled alcohol and found half-empty vodka and tequila bottles inside.

Gordon, 20, was arrested and transported to Cleveland County Jail, where he was found to have a breath alcohol content of .11 and .10, respectively.

In the state of Oklahoma, the legal breath alcohol limit while driving is 0.08%.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office said Gordon posted bail and was released Sunday.

It was not initially clear whether Gordon had a lawyer.

Gordon rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns last season. He won the Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back, finished seventh in the Heisman voting and was a first-team Associated Press All-American.

An Oklahoma State spokesman said the school was “aware” of the situation.

Associated Press reports.
