Bangkok Post – Senior judge removed from office after harassment complaint

A senior Court of Justice source has said a senior judge has been moved to an inactive position pending the conclusion of a formal investigation into the alleged harassment of a court clerk.

The order was signed by the president of the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The accused judge will be temporarily transferred to the Office of the President of the Supreme Court.

According to the source, Judge Jumpol Chuwong will temporarily take over as acting chief judge.

The transfer was prompted by a complaint filed with the Office of the Court of Justice and the Judiciary Commission on June 25. A court reporter alleged she was sexually assaulted on a sleeper train en route to a staff development event in Chiang Mai on June 1.
