AYANEO Pocket DMG is available for pre-order in China (Game Boy-like handheld game console with OLED screen and Snapdragon G3x Gen 2)

THE AYANEO Pocket DMG is a handheld gaming console with a design inspired by classic consoles like the Nintendo Game Boy, but with modern hardware including a high-resolution OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 processor, and game controller inputs including an analog stick, touchpad, and trigger buttons positioned halfway up the back of the console where they are easy to reach.

First unveiled earlier this year, the AYANEO Pocket DMG will soon be available for pre-order via an upcoming crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. But customers in China can already place a pre-order by paying a deposit of CNY1,599 (about $220).

While the company has yet to confirm full pricing, according to ITHome, the Pocket DMG is expected to retail for between CNY2,000 and CNY3,000 ($275 and $412) in China.

AYANEO hasn’t revealed all the hardware details yet, so we don’t know how much memory or storage it will have, for example. But here’s what we know so far:

  • Display: 3.92 inches, 1240 x 1080 pixels (419 ppi), OLED
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 (8-core Kryo CPU, Adreno A32 graphics)
  • Game controllers: Analog stick, touchpad, D-pad, 4 action buttons, “Coastline” rear triggers
  • Cooling:Active (fan)

AYANEO CEO Arthur Zhang also shared photos of the upcoming handheld console on the company’s Discord.
