Kidnapping suspect arrested after holding victim hostage – Times Herald Online

An armed suspect was arrested Sunday for kidnapping a woman and holding her hostage in a Vallejo residence.

Cordell Milton Shaw, 26, was arrested June 30 and charged with suspicion of kidnapping, false imprisonment, domestic violence, criminal threats, damaging a wireless communication device to prevent assistance and possession of a loaded, stolen firearm after the Vallejo Police Department received a report that the victim was being held captive at a home in the 100 block of Maher Court by an armed adult male suspect.

According to Vallejo Police Public Information Officer Sergeant Rashad Hollis, the victim told officers that Shaw threatened to hurt her and used violence against her in an attempt to prevent her from escaping.

During a search of the home, two loaded firearms were recovered, one of which had been stolen in Stanislaus County.

Shaw was booked into the Solano County Jail, and bail was set at $185,000.
