ROANOKE, Va. — Nine recruits graduated and became members of the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department on June 7. For one of them, it was a day to remember.

Firefighter Brayden Bradbury continues family tradition of service by becoming the third family member to join the fire department, WDBJ reported.

“Pride is an understatement to describe how we feel about our son,” said Tiffany, Bradbury’s mother.

Bradbury’s father, Kevin, served with the department for more than 25 years and is currently a lieutenant. His grandfather, Ralph Tartaglia, also had a distinguished career with Roanoke Fire-EMS, serving for 37 years before retiring as deputy chief.
