Lazio’s interest in Inter Milan target is not serious

Lazio are not serious about signing Genoa striker and Inter Milan target Albert Gudmundsson this summer.

That’s according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews. The broadcaster reports that the real target of the Biancocelesti attack is Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood.

Everything indicates that Gudmundsson will change clubs in the summer.

The Icelander’s form last season – he scored fourteen goals and provided seven assists for Genoa – attracted considerable transfer interest.

Most of this phenomenon is happening within Serie A, although Premier League clubs are also taking notice.

Corriere notes that Genoa rejected Fiorentina’s offer of €25 million for Gudmundsson back in January.

The Ligurian club will be looking to earn no less than €30 million if they sell the former AZ Alkmaar striker.

But in reality, Genoa will want much more.

Due to growing interest and competition, Grifone expect a big win.

Lazio not serious about competing with Inter and signing Albert Gudmundsson

The club most strongly linked with a transfer for Gudmundsson this summer was Inter.

The 26-year-old is reportedly something of a dream target for the Nerazzurri in attack, with Gudmundsson himself keen on the move.

But there are a few factors that could make the move difficult.

Not just the price. Inter also need to make room in their squad to sign Gudmundsson, most likely by selling Marko Arnautovic.

The Icelander is also being tracked by Juventus, Roma and Napoli.

Lazio have also recently been linked with a transfer for Gudmundsson.

However, according to SportItalia, the capital club’s interest in signing the Icelandic international is not serious.

Lazio have not yet contacted Genoa regarding the acquisition of Gudmundsson.

The former AZ Alkmaar player would not be a particularly realistic target for the Biancocelesti.

SportItalia, meanwhile, predict that Lazio believe they can potentially beat Juventus to the signature of Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Getafe.
