Firefighters battle blaze in Orangeburg

A fire broke out at a home on Lowman Street Wednesday morning, according to the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a single-story, single-family home with flames escaping through several damaged windows.

The fire was brought under control 35 minutes after firefighters arrived on scene. All remaining fire was extinguished with the help of mutual aid partners.

Mutual aid was provided by the Orangeburg County Fire Department, Jamison Fire Department and Cordova Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and the fire remains under investigation by the ODPS Fire Marshal’s Office.
