Boys win popcorn bucket battle with ode to love sausage

Sorry, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Dune. Showrunner Eric Kripke’s The Boys just won the battle of the popcorn buckets with its ode to Love Sausage.

Okay, we’ll readily admit that this really has nothing to do with this week’s episode of Prime Video and Showrunner. Eric Kripke‘s The boys (more on that below). What it does do is show that the hit streaming series has its finger on the throbbing pulse of what turns people on out there — in this case, buckets of popcorn and the subtle and not-so-subtle sexual innuendos between Dune 2 And Deadpool and Wolverine on them. Well, this is “The Boys” we’re talking about! To hell with “subtle” – not when you’ve got someone like Love Sausage (Derek Johns) that you can honor without even having to waste time with innuendo. Here’s a look at the popcorn bucket that we’re pretty sure we can’t publish as the main image for this article.

The Boys Season 4, Episode 6 “Dirty Business” Preview

If you need a reminder of the emotional roller coaster that is Kripke The boysLook no further than Episode 5: “Beware the Jabberwock, My Son” (directed by Shana Stein and written by Judalina Neira). In terms of the “shock and awe” aspects, we’ve seen Homelander (Antony Starr) empowering the Seven (and some familiars Generation V (faces) to trigger some serious “angry gods” stuff – with VNN’s Cameron Coleman (Matthew Edison) given as an example. Meanwhile, Butcher (Karl Urban) informs the Boys about the superhero-killing virus – and the next thing we know, they have Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) is released from prison, and everyone is battling killer farm animals infused with Compound V. And just when all seemed lost, Butcher swerves into a swerve involving Dr. Sameer Shah (Omid Abtahi) who kept Butcher’s (and Jeffrey Dean MorganHopes for Joe Kessler’s virus (which we don’t believe is real) are alive.

And yet, it was the episode’s heartbreaking emotional moments that once again won out – including Hughie (Jack Quaid) and Daphne (Rosemarie DeWitt) faces the reality that even Compound V can’t save someone when it’s time to go, with Simon Pegg delivering an award-worthy performance. Let’s also not forget the father/daughter dynamic that Edgar and Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) had to deal with after Neuman sold Edgar out, and Edgar learned that Neuman had injected Zoe (Olivia Morandin) with the V compound. Did we also mention that Frenchie (Tom Capone) surrendered to the police to atone for his crimes?

This brings us to the next promotional trailer for this week’s chapter, the Anslem Richardson– wrote “Dirty Business” – and it seems like a very bad time for The Boys to part ways with a member now that we’ve been cordially invited to a “wholesome night” at Tek Knight’s (Derek Wilson) place – an event they seem more than happy to participate in. I think we’ll probably be a little confused by what #ToTheTekCave really means… just a lucky guess:
