Gujarat Chief Minister Vikas Sahay on Wednesday suspended two more policemen — PI JV Dhoda and VS Vanzara — in connection with the tragic fire incident at the TRP Game Zone in Rajkot in May.

In its report, the state government’s fact-finding committee had pointed out the role of two PIs who were on duty in 2021 when the gaming zone was created. Based on the report, the police officers were suspended. It is to be noted that police inspectors VR Patel and NI Rathod were suspended on May 27, two days after the fire tragedy. The PIs suspended on Wednesday were posted in different locations as they were transferred as part of a routine reshuffle. Dhoda was posted in Kutch while Vanzara was posted in Ahmedabad.

Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) questioned former Rajkot municipal commissioners Amit Aora and Ananad Patel. While Arora was questioned for two hours, Patel’s questioning lasted for one and a half hours.
