Sudbury News: Heavy police presence on Elm Street after ‘serious attack’

The Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) posted on social media about an increased police presence in the city’s downtown area shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday.



“Officers are currently on the scene of a serious assault that occurred at a residence on Elm Street near Ethelbert,” police said.

“(A) male victim (was) taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

Police officers confirmed that a 33-year-old man was arrested as a result of the incident.

GSPS added that there is no threat to public safety and the parties involved in the incident are known to each other.
