One man released from jail after first-degree shooting in Elgin, one remains in jail – ABC 6 News

(ABC 6 News) – One of two parents arrested after a child allegedly shot their 6-year-old child with an unattended firearm was released on $0 bail with conditions Wednesday.

Nicole McGee, 33, was no longer on the Wabasha County Jail roster after her initial appearance July 3 on three counts of endangering a child by accessing a firearm and one count of negligent storage of a firearm.

Raymond Duque, 41, remained jailed on $20,000 bail with conditions or $100,000 bail without conditions.

He faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a felon after being convicted in 2012 of a sex crime in which the victim was mentally disabled or helpless.

Duque’s defense attorney filed a motion to lower bail Wednesday afternoon.

Court documents say the boy was shot in the abdomen. He remains in hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.
