If you thought last month was abnormally warm, you were right. June 2024 will go down as Denver’s second-warmest June on record.

The five warmest June months since 1872 (minimum and maximum temperatures):

  1. 2012 – 75 degrees
  2. 2024 – 73.8 degrees
  3. 1994 – 73.5 degrees
  4. 1956 – 73.4 degrees
  5. 2006 – 72.8 degrees

It was a hot month with 28 above-average days and only two below-average days. When you crunch the numbers, the typical high is 83.4 degrees. This June, the average high was 90.1 degrees, or 6.7 degrees above average.

According to the National Weather Service, two temperature records were broken this month:

6/12 – The maximum temperature was 97 degrees, breaking the previous record set in 1952.

June 25 – The minimum temperature (record high temperature during the day) was 68 degrees Fahrenheit, breaking the previous record set in 1990.
