Shane Martin Headbutts Cop, Threatens to Kill His Children After Fight with Vendor Outside Honky Tonk Central – Scoop: Nashville

Shane Martin, 33, was spotted picking a fight with someone outside Honky Tonk Central on June 29. Officers were flagged down by Honky Tonk Central security to assist with the situation. As officers approached the scene, the individual pointed out Martin at the corner of Broadway and 4th Avenue South. Officers approached Martin, who attempted to pretend to be messing with a clerk. When officers told Martin he had to leave due to numerous complaints, Martin became aggressive, saying, “Fuck you! You’re not a real cop.” Martin began shoving officers. Martin then went to Honky Tonk Central, where he was detained by security and handcuffed with one hand. Martin had to be taken to the ground to be fully handcuffed because he was resisting violently. While handcuffing Martin, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from him.

Martin was then taken into custody and taken to jail. During the ride to jail, Martin repeatedly threatened to kill the arresting officer, Officer Beaudu’s children. Upon arrival, Martin continued to be uncooperative, yelling and cursing at officers and staff. Staff came to check Martin’s temperature for the trial. During this, Officer Diesel stood Martin up to help him due to his level of intoxication. When Officer Diesel grabbed Martin by the arm, Martin grabbed him by the back of the head and then headbutted him. Once the officers had Martin under control, he continued to threaten Officer Diesel with violence. Shane Martin was charged with 2 counts of assault on an officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct.

Shane A. Martin of Old Franklin Rd in Antioch, TN, was booked into Metro Nashville Jail on June 30, charged with two counts of assault on an officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He is free on $15,001 bail.
