Person with life-threatening injuries after serious crash that closed Bruce Hwy

The Bruce Hwy has been closed in both directions following a serious crash that left one person with life-threatening injuries north of Brisbane.

The crash happened at Bauple, near Gympie, and emergency services were called to the scene at about 12.24pm on Thursday.

Queensland Ambulance Services said paramedics treated one person with life-threatening injuries.

Another person was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.

According to Queensland Police, the Bruce Hwy was closed in both directions.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area otherwise significant delays can be expected.
