Coldplay settles lawsuit with former manager Dave Holmes

Coldplay have reportedly reached a settlement with former manager Dave Holmes, who was seeking $12 million in damages for allegedly unpaid commissions.

Reports indicate a seven-figure settlement with Holmes, but no details were provided.

Holmes and Coldplay split in 2022 after more than two decades of working together. Holmes claimed he was owed unpaid royalties from Coldplay’s 10th and 11th albums, which had not yet been released. Holmes claimed he organised recording sessions, cleaned up samples and liaised with producer Max Martin ahead of the contract dispute.

This sparked conflicting claims in the High Court in London, with each side seeking millions of pounds from the other.

Coldplay counterclaimed that Holmes had allowed tour costs to spiral out of control and sought £14 million in damages.
