Bebe Rexha Says She Could ‘Destroy’ the Music Industry

Bebe Rexha, who has a career spanning over a decade, says she is “fed up” with the music industry. series of tweets on Tuesday, the singer claimed that she has been “undermined” and silenced throughout her career and that she “could take a BIG chunk of this industry down with her” with her knowledge.

“I AM frustrated,” Rexha wrote. “I have been ELIMINATED. I was so quiet for so long. I didn’t see the signs even though people kept mentioning them and they were SO OBVIOUS. And when I did speak up, I was silent and PUNISHED by this industry. Things need to change or I will speak ALL my truths. The good, the bad and the ugly.”

Rexha did not elaborate, though she did respond to some commenters who wanted to know more. When a fan wrote that “no one should be forgiven” for the 2015 incident in which Rexha, notoriously, was not initially credited as a co-writer on the David Guetta, Nicki Minaj and Afrojack song “Hey Mama,” Rexha he replied“Compared to all the other stuff you don’t know about? It’s child’s play.” Rexha he said that her tweets were not “just out of anger” but also out of sadness. “I’m sitting in my hotel room in London crying. I’ve been feeling hopeless for a long time now,” she wrote.

In addition to her own songs, Rexha has written for artists like Eminem and Selena Gomez, and has sung with Florida Georgia Line and G-Eazy. In June, she slammed G-Eazy, calling him a “guilty ungrateful loser” and saying she could reveal all the “shitty things you did and how you treated me after you gave me your one real hit.” She didn’t elaborate. On Tuesday, a fan asked Rexha what keeps her from speaking out, to which she replied she said“THEY ARE PUNISHING YOU.”

When someone on Twitter suggested that perhaps Rexha’s recent rant was simply part of a marketing strategy for her new single, “I’m the Drama,” which she released last week, close opportunity, saying, “Marketing? I don’t have the budget for this. I’M OVER IT.” On Wednesday, Rexha he thanked followers who checked in on her, writing, “I’m working on these issues and fighting for what I deserve.”
