Altoona Police K9 Tracks Robbery Suspect

ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — An Altoona police K9 is being praised for tracking down a suspect.

The Altoona Police Department is thanking K9 Pongo who helped track down a suspect who was wanted for a robbery and domestic incident. Police said they responded to an incident on Duff Drive on Tuesday, June 25.

Police said the suspect got into a fight with his girlfriend and then allegedly robbed her before fleeing. Officers added that he then fled into the woods.

K9 dog Pongo was then called to the scene to help officers find the suspect. APD reported that Pongo was able to pick up the suspects’ scent and track him down.
