A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a road rage incident that involved alleged shots fired, Danville police say.

The Danville Police Department says a 28-year-old man was arrested after shots were allegedly fired at a vehicle during an incident described as road rage on Tuesday, July 2.

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – The Danville Police Department says a 28-year-old man was arrested after shots were allegedly fired at a vehicle on Tuesday, July 2, during an incident deemed road rage.

According to the police department, officers responded around 4 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Halifax Road. Moments later, the victim reported that her vehicle had allegedly been shot at during what police believe to be a road rage incident.


With information found at the scene, the suspect vehicle and driver identified as 28-year-old Marlowe Malik Cobbs of Milton, NC, were located by the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina. He was extradited back to Virginia and charged with:

  • Shooting from a vehicle
  • Attempted Intentional Injury
  • Use of a firearm to commit a crime
  • Child endangerment
  • Shooting at an occupied vehicle

Cobbs is currently being held in the Danville City Jail without bail.
