EXCLUSIVE: Madeleine McCann sex abuse suspect Christian Brueckner could be free within MONTHS after a German court overturned an arrest warrant that led to his sex abuse trial – sparking outrage among witnesses

A GERMAN court has lifted an arrest warrant for Madeleine Mccann suspect Christian Brueckner for a series of alleged sexual assaults and rapes.

This means that the paedophile and rapist, who is currently on trial for the above-mentioned crimes, could be released within months.

A Braunschweig court judge agreed with Brueckner’s defense that there was not enough evidence to keep him behind bars for five separate sex crimes.

Ute Engemann believes that the evidence in the case of three rapes and two cases of child abuse is not strong enough.

This happened despite the fact that in 2017 a German emigrant was caught exposing himself to a group of children in Portugal.

This afternoon the court issued a press release announcing that the arrest warrant had been lifted.

The document stated that “the Chamber cancels the arrest warrant.”

The article added: “In proceedings 2 KLs 213 Js 52790/18 (15/22) in connection with five acts against sexual self-determination, the Chamber quashed the arrest warrant at the request of the defense, as the Chamber denied the existence of an urgent suspicion that any charges had been committed.”

This decision will certainly be appealed and will cause huge controversy.

Today one of the witnesses, Helge Busching, told the Olive Press: “This is a complete mockery of German justice.

“This took years of my life, and now they want to release this sick man?”

Christian Brueckner is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeliene McCann

German Busching, who lived in Spain and Portugal for many years, helped convict Brueckner of raping American retiree Diana Menkes in 2005.

The seven-year sentence ends next year, but he could be released early. Busching spent three years in the witness protection program.

In this case in Praia da Luz, where Madeleine disappeared in 2007, police found a hair in the bedroom of the 71-year-old victim.

Hairs stored in a crime scene container matched Bruce’s DNA.

She was brutally beaten and raped during a three-hour act of violence that he filmed.

The lawyer for Irish rape victim Hazel Behan described today’s court decision as “a very bad signal”. Hazel declined to comment.

Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters is on three weeks’ vacation and is unavailable for comment.

A decision will probably now be made quickly whether to open proceedings against Brueckner in the case of the kidnapping of Madeleine McCann.

This despite prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters informing the Olive Press that the trial will not take place until next year.

The court confirmed last week that Brueckner’s lawyers had filed a motion to quash the arrest warrant.
His lawyer, Friedrich Fulscher, said that if the attempt proves successful, the man could soon be released from prison.

“If the verdict is overturned and he is ultimately acquitted, he will be released by spring next year at the latest,” he told Sky News.

He added: “I am sure it will be granted. I cannot imagine it being otherwise.

“After collecting the evidence, not a single accusation could be proven in a way that would establish a suspicion of a crime having been committed.”
