New details are emerging about the events that took place between two Georgia firefighters in the days before they went missing and were later found dead side by side in Tennessee, about 400 miles from home.

Chandler Kuhbander and Raegan Anderson, both 24, were found dead in Cosby, Tennessee, on Sunday after a week-long search. They were last seen together in Anderson’s black 2017 Ford Focus after an argument over the weekend at Olive Garden.

Kuhbander and Anderson, who both worked as firefighters in Georgia, had been in a romantic relationship for about seven years, dating back to high school, Kuhbander’s mother, Jane, told WJCL.

However, the couple recently separated, Kuhbander’s mother said.

According to an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE, Anderson was arrested after he confronted Kuhbander with another woman on a date at a local Olive Garden store, then damaged his car because the woman claimed he said hurtful things to her.

A Pooler Police Department officer located Anderson at a nearby Walmart after she fled the scene when Kuhbander called police. There, Anderson told the officer she was heading to a local pizza place when she spotted Kuhbander’s car in the Olive Garden parking lot, prompting her to go inside and confront him and his date. Anderson told police she was “very hurt that he moved on” from their relationship.

“She stated that they had been together for a long time and that she had been injured,” the arresting officer wrote.

Anderson was charged with criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. She reportedly posted bail and continued to call Kuhbander and make threats after he was released, his mother told WJCL.

“He told me she was blowing up his phone and he said she threatened to commit suicide,” Kuhbander’s mother said. “And it’s not the first time she’s done that.”

Kuhbander and Anderson were last seen on surveillance footage on Monday, June 24, when Kuhbander got into Anderson’s car.

Throughout the week of the search, Kuhbander’s mother made repeated pleas on social media for help finding her son, warning that he may have been “coerced” by Anderson and that he “is believed not to be with her of his own free will.”

In a Facebook post, Kuhbander’s mother explained that she believes “Raegan is not a bad person.”

“She is a great firefighter,” the mother wrote in a June 27 post. “She is confused, unstable and (losing) what she has known for 7 years. They were/are not good for each other. She is making bad decisions because of it. They are not a couple, but he cares about her very much. We don’t want anything bad to happen to either of them, we want them to come home safe and sound.”

“The bodies have been sent for autopsy to determine cause and manner of death and positive identification,” a spokesperson told PEOPLE. “The investigation is still active and ongoing at this time.”

A fundraiser has been set up to benefit Kuhbander’s family, who say Chandler was “sadly and unexpectedly taken from them.”
