Young Boy Dies in Tragic Accident in Franklin County

A 7-year-old boy was fatally injured in a tragic accident on the morning of July 2, 2024, in Montgomery Township, Franklin County. Pennsylvania State Police from Chambersburg were called to the scene at Young Rd/Mercersburg Rd around 10:15 a.m. following reports of the incident.

According to lead investigator Nicole White, the young man was working in the field when he was struck by machinery. Police quickly determined it was an accident, noting there was no evidence of foul play.

The Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Chambersburg said the incident was not suspicious. No additional details were released as the investigation is ongoing.
