The investigation into the case of 9 police officers who shot a man with suicidal thoughts has been completed.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Independent Investigative Response Team has completed its investigation into nine officers who were removed from duty after shooting a suicidal man.

The shooting happened Jan. 31 near South Stevens and West Cliff Drive when officers responded to a call about an armed man who was suicidal.

When officers arrived, they saw a man waving a gun in the air and ordered him to drop it several times. On at least two occasions, the man pointed the gun at officers.

A man was shot and killed, and Spokane police placed nine officers on leave to investigate.

The Spokane Independent Investigations Response Team took over the investigation, completed its final examination and forwarded its report to the Spokane County Prosecutor’s Office.

The nine officers under investigation are: Officer Michael Brunner, Officer William Braten, Officer Steven Donges, Officer Will Dowsing, Officer Trystan Herzog, Officer Ryan McLucas, Officer Dylan Pavlischak, Officer Andrew Wilson and Corporal Chris Johnson.
