Five people arrested on deportation order

They were arrested in the Dublin area.

Five people covered by deportation orders were arrested.

They were arrested in Dublin this morning as part of Operation Fern, which targets people illegally present in Ireland.

They are currently in custody and awaiting deportation from the country.

Detective Chief Constable Aidan Minnock said the Justice Department worked closely with each of the individuals prior to the arrests.

It includes an offer of voluntary return to the country of origin, which the persons concerned rejected.
