3 teens arrested after Las Vegas shooting that left 16-year-old dead | Homicides

Three teenagers have been charged with taking a lift in their friend’s car, killing a 16-year-old and then taking his gun, according to a Metropolitan Police report.

They then allegedly returned to the friend’s car, telling her they would hit her if she didn’t drive, according to an arrest report from June 13. Las Vegas police followed up on the case via Instagram direct messages, as well as surveillance footage of the car and the three young men.

Robert Saulsberry, 17, and Doir Jenkins, 18, were booked into the Clark County Detention Center on June 26 on charges of one count of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery. Both attended Canyon Springs High School, which is located in North Las Vegas.

Records show the 14-year-old boy, whose name has not been released, is being held in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.

The Metropolitan Police Department received a report at 10:45 a.m. May 11 of a juvenile man bleeding to death at an address that was not included in the arrest report provided to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The victim, Jovan Wright Bullock, was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead 30 minutes later from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers used cellphone footage from a woman who first called police to identify the Toyota Camry that had made a U-turn in the street (this information was redacted in the report) and spoke to the young women who had brought the alleged perpetrators to the scene.

Surveillance footage also showed three men walking north on Robin Street toward Goldhill Way. The young women told police they heard Saulsberry say he shot Bullock twice, the report said. Instagram messages showed an argument over the gun.

Jenkins was reportedly previously booked into the Clark County Detention Center and was under house arrest at the time of the shooting.

Jenkins is scheduled to appear in court on July 9, and Saulsberry’s bail hearing is scheduled for July 8.
