8-year-old boy killed, parents stabbed by knife-wielding family member shot dead by police in NYC nightmare

An 8-year-old boy was killed and his parents were stabbed in their Queens home Thursday by a knife-wielding family member, police said.

The tragedy took place in an apartment at 147-25 94th Ave. in Jamaica, NYPD Chief John Chell said.

The suspect, believed to be the dead boy’s half-brother, was fatally shot by police after he refused to drop a knife from his father’s neck, according to Chell.

The investigation is ongoing.
