Hicksville High School students celebrate promotion

Hicksville Middle School eighth-graders celebrated their promotion to high school with a walk on the school’s front lawn June 26. The event began with Hicksville Middle School Assistant Principal Vinh Nguyen-Horan welcoming students and families and wishing them well as they continue their educational journey.

Students and family members lined up and waited anxiously as each name was announced. Special awards and honors were given as each student stepped up to the podium for a photo and a handshake with Principal Benjamin Tangney.

After receiving their certificates, students and their guests walked down the teachers’ aisle, cheering on each member of the graduating class.

After the procession, students posed on the lawn in front of the school with friends and family.
