Update: Serious injuries sustained in accident between passenger car and loaded horse trailer

Raymondville, Mo. – On the morning of July 3, 2024, an accident occurred between a loaded horse trailer and a passenger vehicle.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, 25-year-old Gretchen White was driving east on Highway B when she crossed the center line and struck a westbound semi pulling a loaded horse trailer. White was seriously injured and airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment. Sarah Wies, 40, and a 15-year-old juvenile girl, passengers in the westbound semi, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Blake Wies, 41, the driver of the westbound vehicle, suffered moderate injuries and was also taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital.

It is still unknown how seriously the four horses in the trailer were injured.

The investigation into the accident was led by Police Officer J. L. Dedmon and Sergeant D. B. Pounds of Patrol G.
