Sean Diddy Combs faces new lawsuit amid reports of federal investigation and possible indictment of music mogul

(NewsNation) — Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing another sexual harassment lawsuit, the 10th such lawsuit filed against the music mogul since November.

In a new lawsuit, the woman accuses Diddy of grooming her for sex trafficking at his “white parties” between 2004 and 2009.

The lawsuit was filed after Diddy’s legal team was notified last week that he was the subject of a federal criminal investigation.

Two sources familiar with the situation confirmed to NBC News that federal investigators are presenting the evidence against Combs to a grand jury in the Southern District of New York. The nature of the evidence and the charges against Combs are unclear at this time.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has not confirmed the investigation. Grand jury proceedings are typically conducted in secret.

NewsNation sources say that if an indictment is indeed filed, it could be dropped within the next two to three weeks.

The news came three months after authorities searched his homes in Miami and Los Angeles.

In May, a video surfaced online of the rapper attacking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel hallway in 2016. Combs previously denied abusing Ventura when she sued him last year, but later apologized on social media after the video was leaked.

While it doesn’t look like Diddy’s legal troubles will be ending anytime soon, he continues to maintain his innocence of the charges against him and has yet to comment on the latest lawsuit he’s facing.
