Dighton Police Department Announces Promotion of Officer Greg Steele to Detective

DIGHTON — Chief George Nichols, on behalf of the Dighton Police Department, is pleased to announce the promotion of Officer Greg Steele to the rank of Detective.

Steele was promoted by Chief Nichols this week. His promotion will be effective Monday, July 15.

“I would like to congratulate Greg Steele on his promotion to Detective,” said Chief Nichols. “Throughout his career with the Dighton Police Department, Greg has proven to be a leader. Although humble, Greg is a role model for our younger officers.”

Steele began his career in Dighton in 2011 as a patrol officer and has served the community for the past 12 years.

In addition to his duties as a patrolman, Steele currently serves as a firearms instructor.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Bridgewater State University.
