Medical and emergency staff desperately tried to save the MAFS star, the New Zealand Herald reports. Andrew’s father told the newspaper that his family were concerned about his mental state ahead of the court hearing.

His father Roy told the publication: “It should have been a red flag when Andy stopped communicating with his family and friends. I and Andy’s extended family and friends are deeply saddened and confused by this sad event.”

Andrew appeared on the New Zealand edition of Married At First Sight in 2017. He was paired with Vicky Gleeson-Stokes, but the pair ended their relationship after filming concluded.

Andrew’s MAFS co-stars, including Brett and Angel Renall and Benjamin Blackwell, shared tributes on social media following his passing. They shared: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have gathered together to mark the passing of Andrew Jury. It was an absolute pleasure to film and be part of a show that has bonded us for life. Despite his struggles, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our experience together and he truly valued his time on the show.

“At this time, the entire cast would like to send their deepest condolences and love to his family – Ben, Angel, Brett, Vicky, Haydn, Lacey, Claire, Dom, Aaron, Luke and Belinda.”

After news of Andrew’s death broke on Sunday, MAFS New Zealand showrunners Warner Bros. Discovery released a statement regarding the fate of the contestants.
