Coldplay reach settlement with former manager Dave Holmes

Coldplay have reportedly reached a settlement of a lawsuit with their former manager Dave Holmes.

This is a legal battle between both sides that has been going on for several years.

Dave Holmes served as Coldplay’s manager from 2005 until his departure in 2022. He initially filed a lawsuit against the band over alleged “unpaid commission” for two yet unreleased albums.

It was claimed that Holmes was seeking £10 million in damages.

Mr Holmes claimed that Coldplay had breached an agreement that entitled him to a share of the band’s earnings.

However, Coldplay representatives insist that Mr Holmes was appropriately compensated for his work as manager and that these claims are untrue.

Coldplay subsequently filed a counterclaim against Holmes seeking £14 million, claiming Holmes had allowed tour costs to escalate significantly and had used his relationship with the band to take out loans from music promoter Live Nation.
