Mysterious monolith in Colorado torn down after too many tourists came to see the strange object

A mysterious monolith that appeared on a Colorado dairy farm has been removed after crowds of people flocked to view the strange object.

The owners of the Morning Fresh Dairy Farm where the object was found said the object was safe and that the creator could recover it if he wanted.

The tall, shiny, rectangular object appeared June 26 in a field near a farm about 70 miles north of Denver.

Known as the “Monolith”, its sudden appearance caused consternation among the public and attracted crowds of onlookers.

According to sources, the owners asked the public to respect their property and view the facility from the road, but this was not met.

On Wednesday, Morning Fresh Dairy Farm released an official statement online. “We have removed the ‘Monolith’ and are keeping it safe,” the statement said.

They urged the creator to email the farm if they “would like it back.” The farm added that the reason for the removal was “an overwhelming influx of people onto the farm.”

Witnesses to the incident say the monolith was dismantled around 7 a.m. on Wednesday.

“Within 30 minutes of my arrival… a crew showed up with a forklift to unscrew the monolith and take it away,” one person told 9NEWS.

Online users joked about his mysterious origins while complimenting the farm and its products. Others speculated whether the whole thing was a publicity stunt.

“Your dairy products ARE out of this world!” one user wrote in response to the farm’s ad Wednesday, while another added, “I want to see those welds. Aliens can do so much better.”

Another, more skeptical user wrote: “This is 100% a publicity stunt.

“If a loader is needed for demolition, what do you think should be positioned first, then poured with a concrete base, allowed to harden, and then bolted down?”
