Doug Fisher is Lenovo’s new chief security and artificial intelligence officer

Lenovo announced the appointment of Doug Fisher as Chief Security and AI Officer, reporting to the company’s CEO. In his new expanded role, Fisher will lead Lenovo’s AI governance, promoting the Lenovo AI Policy and working with the Lenovo Responsible AI Committee. The Responsible AI Committee is tasked with evaluating Lenovo’s AI solutions across the key pillars of diversity and inclusion, environmental and social impact, accountability and reliability, transparency, explainability, privacy, and security.

Doug Fisher was previously senior vice president and chief security officer at Lenovo, assuming that role in 2020. Before that, he was chief operating officer for Lenovo Data Center Group. Before joining Lenovo, Fisher worked at Intel for 24 years, most recently as senior vice president and general manager of the Software and Services Group (SSG).

He currently serves on the board of SecureAuth, chairs the board of the Joint Development Foundation, and is a member of the Oregon State University Dean’s Leadership Council in the College of Engineering. He previously served as chairman of the Linux Foundation and on the boards of BlueData and Wind River Systems. Fisher began his career at age 17 when he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University and a master’s degree in management from Stanford University.
