Woman arrested after ‘accidental’ shooting

DULUTH, Minn. — A 23-year-old woman was arrested early Thursday morning after she says she accidentally shot another 23-year-old woman.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., the Duluth Police Department responded to a report of a woman shot in the leg in the area of ​​N 1st Ave. E and 2nd St.

According to the report, the 23-year-old woman accidentally fired the gun, hitting the victim in the hip.

The woman had a permit to carry a firearm and was arrested for careless use of a firearm.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
