33-Year-Old Florence Man Identified as Victim of Fatal Shooting

FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A 33-year-old Florence man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon on W. Evans Street in Florence.

Lydell Preston Titus was killed in the shooting that happened about 2 p.m. in the 700 block of W. Evans Street, Coroner Keith von Lutcken said. An autopsy will be performed this week at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Florence police charged Dino Pierre Scott, 46, with murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime of violence, possession of a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is being held without bail at the Florence County Detention Center.

Police said Scott and Titus got into an argument and then Scott pulled out a gun and shot Titus multiple times. Scott was arrested at the scene without incident.
