Missing Georgia firefighters case update reveals days leading up to deaths

A Georgia firefighter was arrested for disorderly conduct after she crashed her ex-boyfriend’s party at an Olive Garden three days before their disappearance and later their bodies were found.

Raegan Anderson and Chandler Kuhbander, both 24, were found dead Sunday in Cocke County.

The two worked together at Liberty County Fire Services in Hinesville. They began dating in high school and dated for seven years before parting ways in 2023.

Kuhbandera and Anderson were last seen alive on June 25 in Savannah, Georgia.

Raegan Anderson was arrested three days before she and her ex-boyfriend Chandler Kuhbander disappeared. She crashed Kuhbander’s date at Olive Garden and scratched his car, according to a police report.

Hinesville Police Department and Chandler Kuhbander’s Family

According to a police report obtained by Anderson, Kuhbander was on a date at the Olive Garden in Pooler on June 22 when he showed up Newsweek.

Kuhbander told officers he didn’t know how Anderson found out where he was and that she could have just been passing by.

According to reports, Anderson said he then began making false accusations about his date until she became “uncomfortable” and left the restaurant.

When Kuhbander left the restaurant, Anderson was in the parking lot with his car. The two began arguing.

Kuhbander claimed Anderson damaged his car, smashed his gas cap and ripped off his rear wiper. Anderson left when he said he was calling the police.

Police found Anderson in the parking lot of a nearby Walmart. She said she saw what looked like Kuhbander’s car in the Olive Garden parking lot as she was driving to another restaurant. She pulled into the parking lot and confirmed it was his car.

Anderson then went into the restaurant to talk to a woman Kuhbander was on a date with. She said she followed Kuhbander outside after his date left and scratched his car because he said “hurtful” things to her, the report said.

Anderson told officers she had been dating Kuhbander for a long time and was hurt that he had ended the relationship.

Officers arrested Anderson on charges of criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct.

Chandler Kuhbander was a senior firefighter with the Liberty County Fire Department. The fire department said it was “deeply saddened” to learn of his death.

Chandler Kuhbander’s Family

Before officers found the bodies, Chandler’s mother, Jane Kuhbander, told Court TV that she believed Anderson was “in a poor mental state” and “a danger to himself.”

A fundraiser has been set up to benefit the family of Chandler Kuhbander.

“Chandler Kuhbander was sadly and unexpectedly taken from his family and the life he loved,” the fundraiser organizers wrote. “We ask for your support as he continues to grieve, find a new normal, and heal.”

The cause of death for Chandler Kuhbander and Anderson has not yet been determined, but both bodies have been sent for autopsies.

“Liberty County Fire Services is deeply saddened to hear the news regarding Lt. Raegan Anderson and Senior Firefighter Chandler Kuhbander,” Liberty County Fire said in a statement. “These two incredibly dedicated employees poured their hearts and souls into protecting and serving the citizens of Liberty County. Our prayers, as well as the prayers of the department, are with the families during this most difficult time.”
