Firefighters called to blaze at mill behind Mossley pub – Not Really Here Group

Firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire at a mill behind the Britannia pub in Mossley.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just after 5pm today (Thursday, July 4) firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a retail premises on Manchester Road in Mossley.

“Three fire engines from Mossley, Ashton and Stalybridge fire stations attended the scene quickly and firefighters used breathing apparatus and a positive pressure fan to extinguish the fire, which broke out in a small outbuilding at a derelict mill.

Patrons of a nearby pub were evacuated as a safety precaution and were later allowed to return inside.
“Crews were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.”
