July 4th tragedy: 23-year-old motorcyclist dies in accident on Route 4

LOTHIAN, Maryland — On July 4, 2024 at 9:11 p.m., emergency responders responded to a motorcycle crash on Route 4 northbound near Talbot Road. Crews arrived on scene to find a Dodge Charger and a Yamaha motorcycle involved in a collision.

The driver of the Yamaha motorcycle, Noah Allen Lee, 23, of Dunkirk, Md., was pronounced dead at the scene by fire department personnel. The driver and passenger of the Dodge, Ronald Avery Weeks, Sr., 73, and Sharon Smith Weeks, 57, both of Upper Marlboro, Md., were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and taken to CalvertHealth Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

The investigation revealed that a 2015 Dodge Charger was traveling north on Route 4 when the driver left the road and made a left turn onto southbound Route 4. At the same time, a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle was also traveling north on Route 4. As the Dodge Charger was making the turn, it crossed into the path of the Yamaha motorcycle, which was unable to avoid striking the Dodge Charger.

The accident is being investigated by the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Traffic Safety Division.
