Good for Oxford Schools provides nutritious meals all year round

Posted 2:00 pm Thursday, July 4, 2024

The Oxford School District’s child nutrition department, Good Food for Oxford Schools, is committed to student health, well-being and ability to learn.

For the 2024–2025 school year, the Oxford School District will participate in three federally subsidized nutrition programs: the USDA School Breakfast Program, the USDA National School Lunch Program, and the USDA After School Care Program.

The School Breakfast Program reimburses the costs of running nonprofit school breakfast programs, ensuring that all Oxford students receive free breakfasts. The National School Lunch Program provides children with nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches every school day. The After-School Care Program will provide snacks for students participating in Charger After School.

In order for a student to be eligible for free or reduced-price lunches, a parent or guardian must complete an application to determine income eligibility. Families are strongly encouraged to apply for free or reduced-price lunches at oxfordsd.org/freemeals because it is critical for our schools to receive important federal funding.

School meals offered for the 2024-2025 school year are as follows:

Students:

  • Breakfast: Free for all students
  • Paid lunch for students: $3.75
  • Reduced price student lunch: $0.40
  • After-School Snack: Free for students participating in the Charger After School program.

Adults:

  • Breakfast: $2.25
  • Lunch: $4.50
