Joe Biden Admits He Was ‘Knocked Down’ in Debate with Donald Trump

President Joe Biden admitted he “made a mistake” and got “knocked down” during the first debate, while former President Donald Trump called him a “blown pile of sh**.”

Biden on Thursday, a week after debating Trump, acknowledged his dismal performance but vowed to continue serving as president despite some calling for him to step down.

“The fact is, I screwed up. I made a mistake,” Biden told WAUK radio host Earl Ingram.

“But I learned from my father, when you fall, just get back up. And, you know, we’re going to win this election. We’re going to beat Donald Trump just like we did in 2020.”

Biden also responded “no” to WURD anchor Andrea Lawful-Sanders when asked if Americans should be worried after a debate in which he stuttered and was at times unintelligible.

“I had a bad debate,” Biden laughed. “But 90 minutes on stage doesn’t erase what I’ve done for three and a half years.”

The president sought to allay concerns about his ability to seek reelection just hours after Trump released a video of himself mocking him and Vice President Kamala Harris, who some Democrats believe will succeed him.

In the clip, which Trump shared on Truth Social Wednesday night, he can be seen sitting next to his 18-year-old son Barron in a golf cart and talking to people who are not in the frame.

“How did I do in the debate last night? I kicked that old, broken piece of shit,” Trump said, referring to Biden.

“He just dropped out, you know – he’s dropping out of the race… and that means we have Kamala. I think she’s going to be better. She’s bad. She’s so pathetic.”

Trump then returned to criticizing Biden.

“Can you imagine what it’s like to deal with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, the president of China – who is a fierce person, a fierce man, a very tough guy,” he said.

Biden is trying to salvage his reelection campaign with a slew of media interviews and public appearances in the coming days. He is scheduled to give an interview Friday morning with ABC News anchor George Stephanopolous that will air that night.

The president is also holding a news conference at the NATO summit next week in Washington.

Biden reportedly told an ally that he “knows that if he puts on two more events similar to” the debate disaster, he may not save his re-election chances.
