Cedar County judge issues restraining order against BDSM event at community center | KOLR

CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. – A Cedar County judge has issued a temporary injunction to stop a sex party at the Zumwalt Expo Center in Stockton last weekend.

According to the court, a BDSM company operating under the name “TLC Hawaiian hotties” advertised a “swingers party” to be held at the expo center on Saturday, June 29.

Court documents say the party violated several Missouri laws regarding sexual misconduct and prostitution.

On Friday, June 28, just before the event, a judge issued an interim injunction against the company.

KOLR 10 Investigates looked into what Missouri law has to say about these types of adult parties.

Public sexual intercourse in the presence of a third party is illegal under Missouri law. But is the expo center a public place?

Court documents state that the U.S. Corps of Engineers owns and leases the Zumwalt Expo Center. This typically classifies the land as public property. However, our investigative team was surprised to find the road to the community center blocked and gated.

If the federal government owns the property, as the lawsuit suggests, that could also be why court documents mention that advertising for the event indicated that marijuana would be used at the event. Although recreational marijuana is legal in Missouri, it remains illegal federally.

The lawsuit also says that if money is involved, the event would also violate Missouri’s prostitution law.

KOLR 10 Investigates will continue to follow this story.
