17-year-old Bellevue boy injured by fireworks in Omaha

A 17-year-old Bellevue boy was taken to Nebraska Medical Center after being injured by a firework, according to Omaha police.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Wednesday, Omaha police officers and medics responded to the report of an injury near 20th and L streets. Medics took the boy to Nebraska Medical Center for treatment, according to a police report.

In an email, an Omaha police spokesperson said the boy may have lost some fingers in the incident, but such injuries have not been confirmed.
