Teenager charged after 72-year-old man suffered ‘serious facial injuries’ at Innerleithen playground

A teenager has been charged after a man allegedly suffered “serious facial injuries” during an assault in a Borders playground.

A 16-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault of a 72-year-old man in Innerleithen at the playground at the end of Hall Street in the town.

The alleged attack took place on Saturday, June 8 at around 7pm, and the man was taken to hospital with “serious facial injuries.”

The teenager will be reported to the prosecutor.
