Cops chase Toyota Prius driver in San Fernando Valley – NBC Los Angeles

Police chased the driver of a Toyota Prius on streets and freeways in the San Fernando Valley Thursday before calling off the pursuit in the North Hollywood area.

The pursuit began after a report of a stolen car. Details of the crime were not immediately available.

The pursuit continued through the Glendale area before entering Burbank, where the driver stopped in a restaurant parking lot and continued on Highway 134 to North Hollywood. Officers in patrol SUVs ended the pursuit when the driver pulled out onto the street.

The driver pulled into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store and spoke to two people before driving back toward Burbank.

The driver was most likely driving at a speed close to the speed limit on a light traffic day on Independence Day.
