Man arrested for stealing from apartment

Police arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of involvement in domestic theft.

On July 2, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., police were notified of a theft in which a gemstone and a luxury watch with a combined value of $6.2 million were allegedly stolen from an apartment on Cairnhill Circle.

Through further investigation and field investigation, officers from the Tanglin Police Department identified the man and quickly arrested him within 20 hours. Initial investigation revealed that he also allegedly stole a purse, one pair of sandals, and one pair of sneakers worth a total of $46,200 from the same apartment. The stolen items were later recovered.

The man will be charged in court on July 5, 2024, for theft from a dwelling under section 380 of the Penal Code of 1871. The offence of theft from a dwelling is punishable by imprisonment for up to seven years and a fine.
